Celebrating, Giving Thanks and Looking Forward!

On Saturday Oct. 1st a Mass of Thanksgiving was held to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of our Parish, presided by Msgr. Dicaire , our Auxillary Bishop and concelebrated by our parish priests.
This was followed by a delicious Roast Beef Dinner with all the trimmings!
Thank you so much to Mr. and Mrs. Taylor for organizing this wonderful event and to everyone who made it such a success!

This parish was built by many parishioners, some still with us but many who have gone before us. On Sunday Oct 2nd, during a special Mass for all deceased members of our parish we had the opportunity to hear from the families of Brian Powers, Michael Neysmith and Dr. Lorne Cassidy, three men who gave so much to our community.
Our younger generation was also there: the children’s choir sang beautifully!

Now is the time to dream about what the future holds for our parish community.
On the occasion of his feast day, may we be inspired by these words of St. Francis of Assisi, our patron saint.

"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible" - St. Francis of Assisi

Picnic!

Old-Fashioned Picnic in the Garden Behind the Church

When? August 28th, right after Mass

Everyone brings their own food and drinks... and games!
Does anyone want to plan some games for all?

Maybe bring some desserts to share?

And are you a pro at preparing corn?   ...Then please let the wardens know because they will support your efforts - it's the perfect time of year to think of sharing this delicious treat!

The wardens will set up some tables and chairs, but you might find it fun to bring a picnic blanket to lounge on too!

Any other ideas to make this a fun summer community activity?
